Wednesday
We had a long day of traveling, but we are all settled in and just about ready to crash for the day. We landed around 11:30 this morning and made it into the city about an hour later. We made a quick stop at the clinic to figure out details for tomorrow and then tried to enjoy the rest of the day. We knew this would probably be the one day that we'd all get to enjoy together, so Josie showed her dad and Brooks Central Park and then we hiked over to see the Rockefeller Christmas Tree. It was so cold and the kids were so tired (we all were) that it wasn't all I'd hoped it would be. We both were carrying kids (I was kicking myself for leaving the umbrella strollers at home). The tree was huge and it was beautiful but Brooks howling and Josie in tears was not what I'd had in mind. Oh well, we saw the tree...check that off the list of things to see. Needless to say that ended our day. We caught a cab back to the apartments, grabbed a frozen pizza and skyped with Millie and Grandma.
So updates for tomorrow...Josie's surgery is set for 1:00 p.m. (noon Iowa time) and could be 3-4 hours long. Sounds like she'll most likely be admitted until Saturday but that could change. Between Dave and I we plan to post an update on here. That's all till tomorrow...Erin
