Week 1
Well, we've made it through the first week. We've definately missed seeing & kissing Josie's sweet little face. The swelling seemed to get a little worse every day this week, I think the worst of it was today. With the mask on the swelling gets squished out the openings in her mask, so today she wasn't able to open her left eye when the mask was on and her lip really puffed up. She kept trying to open up her eye with her fingers, it must feel funny to her. Every night we take the mask off before bed and let her run around, her eye opens back up and her lip shrinks back down, she acts like it feels so good to be free! The picture above was taken right before bedtime tonight. If you look close you can see her bruises are fading and the redness isn't as bright:) The picture below was taken earlier this week before bath time, she looked so funny running around, we couldn't help but snap a picture! She always keeps us smiling!
I put this picture of Brooks in because every day this week he has fallen asleep in his chair at lunch. I think all the excitement with Josie is wearing us all out! Plus, he needs some face time:) I keep telling him on Saturday he gets some mom-time, he's been such a good brother!
Dave's sister Carie and her family came up tonight and stayed with the kids so that Dave and I could get out for a little while. It was a nice break and we didn't even ask for it, we're so lucky to have such a great family.
Well, that's all I have for tonight, I'll post new pictures next Friday. ~Erin
