Dylan's Smile

The picture I'm posting is of Josie and her new bear Alfie. Alfie was a gift from Dylan's Smile, this is an awesome organization that we were connected with. The mission of Dylan's Smile is to "instill hope and foster pride in any family of a child with a facial birth defect. Our goal is to initiate and provide resources for supportive relationships, while building confidence and camaraderie. " This organization was started by an awesome mom, Daphne Christensen, who's own child was born with a facial birth defect. I've had the privilege of getting to know Daphne through emails and the the ever-addicting facebook.com. She's always offering a comforting ear and we were so touched by Alfie and the book that came with him. Josie loves him, he's so soft and is packed in our bag for the trip to the hospital tomorrow:) I hope that all of you go to http://www.dylanssmile.com/ and check out this great organization for yourself. On another note, notice Josie's big girl haircut:) I hated the thought of cutting her hair off but Aunt Kelly cut both her and Brooks hair last night and I was pleasantly surprised, she looks pretty sassy with her new do, fits her personality! Brooks did a great job, too. I think he sat for his cut better than Josie. We let him play with the camera, anything electronic and he'll sit still for hours (takes after his dad that way:) Well, that's it for tonight, we'll be in touch soon . . .
